Life has been
hectic to say the least. Without going into too many details that I will
probably turn into a blog, we have decided to start trying for another baby, while
raising a toddler, dealing with daily life and of course building our dream
home. Speaking of home, we made a major decision to stop building The Carolina
Place with Ryan homes and start building a Belina with Mid-Atlantic Builders.
This all started on
Oct 7th 2017 when we were going to check on our progress of the
Carolina Place and when we got to our neighborhood we saw that Mid-Atlantic had
released a new Ranch level! Well I can never leave well enough alone, and I
went online to check out the floorplan and fell in love. This plan had
everything we thought the Carolina Place was missing. Unfortunately, there was
no model we could see since they had not built this house yet anywhere, so we
had to use our imaginations.
We needed to decide
quickly because since we live with my in-laws it was going to be hard to tell
them we were starting over and would not be moving out in December as planned. (Check
out my post https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=4491680824014989665#editor/target=post;postID=4402920691979384408;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=4;src=postname
for a refresher on our moving story and how we ended up at my in-laws) Over
that weekend I did a 3D rendering in my architect program to get an idea of how
the house would look. As of Oct 17th, 2017, we were no longer
building with Ryan, they were great, and I have nothing against them at all. We
did lose our $25,000 that we had put down on the house but that was expected.
The Ryan home came
out beautiful they ended up keeping all the finishes we originally chose with
the exception of the second bathroom tile and finishing the basement, they only
kept the rec room which we had gotten on promo. Below are pics of the final
house, they sold the house for $499k which is almost 100k less than what we
were purchasing it for. Overall, I am happy and I hope a family really enjoys
that house and that’s it for that chapter in our lives.
